I am not sure I will have the time to finish these drawings/collages before the birth (which should have happened by now…so,let’s say, I am pretty much sure I won’t have time to carry on) therefore, I am posting them at their current stage…

This past two days, it was fun to let photoshop aside and go back to liquid paint, papers and scissors…

I never tried to make “collages” until now - I loved it…

After the B…. , I will paint onto the text (the paper comes from an old children story book in Hebrew that I found in the second hand shop of the village here)…

Here is the final invitation…

Each one will draw something, anything, on a square piece of cloth. All the pieces will be sewed together by Kim in order to make the “Hupa” … Here is my contribution to Roy and Kim’s “Hupa”.

For thoses who asked, I found a few basic words on the significance of a “Hupa” in jewish weddings: The wedding ceremony is celebrated under the Houpa, a symbol of home that the couple must build and share. It is open on all sides, in the same way as was the tent of Abraham and Sarah, to be able to offer hospitality to friends and family members without any restrictions.

When looking for ideas for Roy and Kim’s wedding invitation, I recalled Nathalie and Jean Claude’s (The Constantin Family , almost swiss people). It was presented as the coverage of a book. It was very nice.

Therefore I will probably be inspired by their invitation (to be transposed in the style of local publications of course). On that occasion, I will call for Zohar’s help.

I started to draw a set of animals who stand on the floor as skittles do (difficult to see on this picture because I cut the bottom of it - oups!!!). Anyway, I have a good feeling about their astounded faces: as soon as I have more time and mental space (baby girl on the way ) I will give them a clearer shapes and characters… until then bye bye hippopotamus, lions, chicks and parrots …
