On the black board

After her first day at school, she was waiting for mum and dad … She pictured herself in that waiting position, as drawn with white and blue chalk on a black board (although I am not sure that black board still exist…), reviewing the fun things she did during that day…

“They” always want to know whether I am right or left handed… I will let them wonder a little longer… Anyway, why should I decide in the rush, knowing that I can get by in both situations.

Should I “wait” or should I go?

From observation: When we are three years old, we are amazingly persistents: by cold or hot weather (approximate translation of french expression…), we don’t stand anybody up, we wait for friends…

What is paramount is to be friend with Noya, Zeeve and Tamar and being able to proclaim ourself: “best friends”…

As if...

illustration - children

.. I was reading.

… A distant attitude, a tiny touch of concentration in my eyes, a frown of my eyebrows to add a look of suspicion about the content of the text and that’s it… It works out nicely for my public!!!

Umbrella girl.

illustration - children

It was a good idea to bring an umbrella for this walk over the clouds since, in this specific landscape, tiny drops flit about continually… However she was so well wrapped in her coat and her daydreaming that she forgot to open it.

The waiting room.

Mum thought I would frantically run all over the room… Not at all! In hindsight, I amusingly observed people around…

Nevertheless, let’s militate for a play ground corner in every waiting room.

Speech rehersal.

illustation - children

LILI likes all the range of reddish colours. For the impending speech at school, she will be wearing her red dress, offering red tulips and of course, naturally painting her cheeks in red because she is blushing so easily!. Her friends from the blue birds community are helping her to rehearse her text while nonchalant Fishes don’t get it.

IF: leap

illustration - cat- pomegranate tree

I saw so many interesting and various contributions to Illustration Friday” lately that I decided to try… So today, I am sending a drawing to Illustration Friday for the first time.

For this time only, I will be using something I already made last week as I was looking for minimalists subjects in order to make postcards.

The cat is leaping to reach a pomegranate… He has no intention to eat it. Cats simply love playing football with pomegranates. They prefer the dry ones because of the noise the seeds produce when the fruit is rolling away…

This is a sketch that I will propose to the project which consist of displaying dinosaurs in the street of Haïfa (like the Lions who inhabited Lyon (France)’s street a few years ago).

Here are the details (in hebrew) of this project and the outlines of the dino to be loaded if you are interrested and if you are in the surroundings…

Musical tale from Anne Sylvestre ("coup de coeur")

About thirty years ago, as a child, I was already listening Anne Sylvestre (French singer who write and sing lots of songs for children), kneeling next to a vinyl disc for hours…

A few weeks ago, we received from France, a musical tale for children “lala et le cirque du vent” (also from Anne Sylvestre)… We can’t stop listening to it.

Géraldine Cornière’s illustration for this tale are also very nice. You can find some of her work here.
